The NSE Charity Trading Day is an annual event that brings together celebrities, capital market participants, sponsors, and beneficiaries to network and have fun while encouraging investors to make a trade on that day in support of the events’ cause.
During the Charity Trading Day, celebrities and other participants make calls to clients on behalf of dealers, with all of the days’ trading revenues being donated towards Charity. Wildlife conservation was the key area to support for the Charity Trading day between 2015 -2017.
Education was the key area of support for the year 2018 which is aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) four of ‘Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promotion of lifelong learning opportunities for all’.
In 2019, the Our focus was in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) three which seeks to ensure healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The funds were channeled towards establishing a comprehensive data management registry system at the National Cancer Institute of Kenya, which will guide necessary research aimed at management and ultimate reduction of cancer cases in Kenya.
In 2021, the NSE Charity Trading Day placed a special focus on supporting SMEs withstand the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic through the KEPSA revolving fund.
The Charity Trading Day has made a significant difference towards wildlife conservation, promotion of education and other humanitarian causes. It has enabled us to fund projects such as Borana Ranch Conservancy (http://www.borana.co.ke/), We The Change Foundation, Genevive Audrey Foundation, SOS Children’s home, Joy Children’s Home, Nature Kenya, The National Cancer Institute of Kenya and KEPSA.
